Murshid's Beloved,
Thank you for the question about Sacred Trust. I guess I use this phrase. I'm not aware of it. But certainly it is part of my every day, almost every moment. I would say that the closest meanings are from two perspectives: a personal looking out, and a personal looking in.
The personal looking in is the most intimate and might be likened to what my teacher, Murshid Sam called the dharma (obligation or duty) and which he used emotionally as his or our "truth" - what we owe to our intimate Lord, to whom we look to find our values, wants, and guidance on the path of life. To be straight, honest, best effort with this sacred trust, to act in gratitude and as a servant to the ideal of this dharma would be acting within this sacred trust. I would say, God trusted me with the role of offering you some of your guidance and inspiration and brotherhood, to help His beautiful daughter to whom He has given this sacred trust, His intimacy (forgive my gender references). I find this sacred trust within my heart, deep within my being beyond ideals of my little ego self, and actualize its appearance when I look at my obligations to others. Even to the extend, do I shave, do I cut my hair, do I smoke, do I drink, what do I eat, what work do I do. Everything is measured against my hope to fulfill this sacred trust so that I can be permitted continual close proximity to the ONE.
Love and Blessings,
Michael
